As our customers know, at Home Media we believe that fantastic audio should be a universal experience, but of course there are factors at play that can impact how an individual listens to and enjoys sound and music. For example, those who have encountered a loss or reduction of hearing, naturally may notice a significant change in how much immersive enjoyment they can gain from their once-favourite systems and albums.
We’re pleased to say that, while everyone’s situation will be different and unique to them, not all is necessarily lost when it comes to regaining some of that forgotten audio love.
One of our longstanding customers, Des, reached out to let us know about his news of having recently acquired a pair of Widex Beyond 440 Hearing Aids – which he tells us made an incredible difference to his experience of his music system, and sound as a whole. Fantastic to find out how he can discover his love for his record collection all over again!
Having booked to get imprints for fitting some Sennheiser IE 900 in-earphones, our customer realised the same company also provided a hearing test service; while there was no specific reason for concern – he knew his hearing was ‘ok’ though sometimes conversations in busy crowd settings could be a challenge – having booked a test, it transpired his hearing had deteriorated over time and the aging process.
This led to the purchase of a new ‘accessory’, the Widex Beyond 440 Hearing Aids, and as the man himself said: “By Jove, what a difference! The world and songbirds are a lot louder and more detailed now.”
We’re pleased to say this has also had a fantastic effect on Des’ music enjoyment, having regained an audio experience he had not realised he was missing out on. He can continue to rediscover quality audio via his KEF Reference 3 loudspeakers and immerse himself in all it has to offer once more and into the future. He reports that his device, controllable from his iPhone (for adjusting balance, volume etc), has really had a marked effect on opening up the mid band spatially but also in terms of extra detail, as well as delivering strength at higher frequencies. At £3,800, not an insignificant purchase – but what a change it will make for years to come.
As for ourselves… anything that opens someone’s ears (and mind) to the endless possibilities of audio has to be a positive thing! Thank you to Des for sharing this news and experience – it’s been eye opening, and we’re delighted by all the ways in which you are experiencing improvements in your everyday life.
