There are a unique set of circumstances behind how we became authorised stockists of the wonderful brands we’ve chosen to support here at Home Media; what connects them all simply is how much our team enjoy listening to music played on their products. In the case of Netherlands-based audio brand Mola Mola, our appointment as an authorised stockist is thanks to a friend and customer.
Our exposure to Mola Mola began in late 2023 when Chris was assisting a gentleman with his desire to purchase a turntable and music streaming-based hi-fi system. Following a few conversations and in-store demonstrations, Chris and John embarked upon a home demo of our newfound customers’ shortlisted products. During this time, our customer became aware of, and highlighted, some positive feedback of Mola Mola products.
It was at this point that we established that the brand is distributed in the UK by the much-respected Andy Baker of Sound Design Distribution Ltd. Having worked alongside Andy over a quarter of a century ago at KEF, Simon made a call to his long-standing friend and former colleague – and demonstration was made available for home demo.
We quickly realised that Mola Mola designer and company founder, Bruno Putzeys, had created some rather special products, which eventually led us to invest our own ‘hard-earned’ into buying demonstration stock – a result of how much we enjoyed the sound of the amplifier and DAC. As for our customer, he decided upon a system comprising of a Mola Mola Kula and Tambaqui DAC, partnered with a pair of Perlisten S4B loudspeakers.
