Home Media nominated for Maidstone’s High Street Heroes awards

It is no secret how much we at Home Media love our music and the opportunity to share it with our fantastic customers – they truly are front and centre of all we do.

We’ve been in business in Maidstone for nearly 30 years now and over the years we have honed our expertise to bring customers the latest and best hi-fi, home cinema and home control equipment.

However, we think it is fair to say competition in the retail world is pretty tough right now. You can buy just about anything from anywhere in the world at just a touch of a button but what you can’t buy is great personal service.

And that’s why we are truly honoured and humbled to be nominated in Gullands Solicitors’ 2025 Maidstone High Street Heroes awards.

These brilliant awards aim to recognise the businesses and employees in our wonderful town who go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. In addition, the nominations are made by the public which makes these honours even more special.

We think it is marvellous that the importance of great service is being recognised and to be nominated by so many of our customers is amazing. We can’t thank them enough.

One generous nominator described Home Media as “the most courteous and knowledgeable people I have met in fifty years of buying music equipment”.

They added: “The father and son who own the business came to my home on several occasions to ask me what I wanted to hear from music. Once Simon understood what I was after, he loaned me several thousand pounds worth of equipment to see if it met my needs. Eventually deciding on a bespoke hi-fi system, Simon and Chris came to my home and set the whole thing up so I could immediately enjoy the music. Simon was in touch for months afterwards to make sure I was getting the best out of the music and Chris came out a few times to tweak the system.

I cannot praise Home Media enough… they are so friendly, they even introduced me to some new music! I think they deserve an award as they are the friendliest, most helpful shop I have ever done business with and the customer service and support is absolutely first class.”

The awards, run by Gullands Solicitors, are in partnership with One Maidstone BID and Metro Bank, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony at Maidstone United Football Club on Thursday 13th November. We can’t wait!

Win or lose at the awards night, we are just happy to be included. It is so great to be recognised and we hope to continue to offer first class customer service for years to come.
