The Chord ShawlineX DC cable for Rega turntables is a new cable upgrade that has been designed to reduce the pick up of interference/noise and features our acclaimed advanced shielding technology with high-specification 4pin connectors. To benefit from the ShawlineX DC cable upgrade, your Rega turntable will require use of either the Rega TT PSU or Rega Neo power supply.
Owners of the following Rega turntables fitted with a 24 volt motor are strongly recommended to give this a try:
- Rega P3 24
- Rega RP3
- Rega Planar 3
- Rega Planar 3 50th Anniversary
- Rega RP6
- Rega Planar 6
Alternatively, if you have an older Rega Planar turntable that has been fitted with a 24v motor upgrade kit.

I’m not really an audiophile, just enjoy an eclectic mix of good music that is well reproduced, and I’m not too sure about the hidden details of all the components. Nonetheless, despite not fully understanding what it does, I am really impressed with the improved sound coming from my system from the addition of the Shawline DC.
I was very happy with my set up which is a low to medium priced system comprising, on the analogue side: Rega P6 with Ania Pro MC cartridge, Chord Huei phono stage, Rega Elicit R amp and Linn Majik 109 speakers with Chord Clearway connecting and speaker cables. This produces a faithful reproduction of the recording with clarity and great separation, especially so with vocals, guitars and piano music. I predominantly play opera and classical music and feel that the Shawline has given greater depth, and warmth to the music without compromising the systems inherent qualities. To be honest, I really love this new sound and my initial reaction was WOW! everyone should buy this as the improvement far outweighs the £300 price tag.
At the risk of hyperbole I might just stop scratching the constant upgrade itch, for a while at least, and look forward to even more hours of the even greater enjoyment that listening to my music gives. A great product.
