Outstanding Live Concerts
Being, first and foremost, music lovers, it’s not unusual to find the Home Media team foot-tapping, clapping, stomping or singing along at a concert. Can you really beat that live music feeling?
Whether it’s seeing a lifelong favourite artist perform live, discovering someone new or simply sharing the vibes with customers, suppliers and friends, live music has given us plenty of unforgettable moments over the years.
Here are just a handful of our recent standout gigs (in no particular order!):
AIR (Moon Safari Tribute)
A mini concert delivering a faithful live recreation of one of our favourite debut albums. A wonderful evening at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury, alongside Home Media customers and our AIRT Audio suppliers, celebrating tracks that still sound as fresh and immersive today as they did on release.
SOHN (St. Matthias Church & Metropole Orkest, Eindhoven)
Two unforgettable opportunities to experience SOHN live. Watching him perform in the beautiful surroundings of St Matthias Church made for an unforgettable evening, with the acoustics and intimate setting perfectly complementing the music. And travelling to Eindhoven to hear SOHN perform alongside the renowned Metropole Orkest was equally memorable, elevating the music to another level through a truly exceptional orchestral collaboration.
Alison Goldfrapp
Alison Goldfrapp’s solo material, alongside some of the most recognisable Goldfrapp hits, brought a fresh perspective while retaining the unmistakable style that has made her such a compelling live performer. An absolutely stellar night at the stunning Somerset House enjoyed alongside Home Media customers.
Public Service Broadcasting
A truly electric live experience, blending rock music, archive footage and storytelling into something truly unique. One of the most inventive performances we’ve seen, set to the backdrop of Camden’s iconic Roundhouse.
Depeche Mode
Few bands can match the atmosphere of a Depeche Mode concert – and this was certainly the case for the Memento Mori world tour at the O2. Decades of iconic songs, an incredible live production and thousands of fans singing every word made this one to remember.
New Order
Hearing songs that helped define an era performed live at the O2 arena… how does it feel? A genuine bucket-list moment, delivering a perfect blend of electronic innovation and timeless songwriting.
New Model Army
Powerful, passionate and uncompromising, New Model Army’s live performances have always had a unique intensity that keeps audiences coming back for more. Another memorable evening at the Roundhouse showcasing exactly why the band have maintained such a loyal, active following over the years.
Simple Minds
From atmospheric moments to stadium-sized anthems, Simple Minds live always prove why they’ve remained such an enduring live act for decades. Hearing all the top, crowd-pleasing, sing-along hits at the legendary O2… definitely one we won’t forget.
Ocean Colour Scene
Britpop classics, brilliant musicianship and an audience belting along with the hits from start to finish. OCS at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea was one of those gigs where every song brought back fond memories.
Happy Mondays
Sometimes the best musical experiences are less about perfection and more about pure personality… and Happy Mondays, supported by The Farm at Brighton Dome, delivered exactly the kind of energetic, feel-good performance that reminds you why live music is just so special.
The Lightning Seeds
With a catalogue full of timeless, well-crafted pop songs, The Lightning Seeds delivered a performance at the O2 Forum at Kentish Town, packed with infectious melodies and feel-good nostalgic moments. A celebration of tracks that stand the test of time and continue to bring audiences together to appreciate the art of great songwriting.
Ministry of Sound
Some nights are simply too good to experience only once! Having attended two Ministry of Sound events over the years – including their annual ‘Classical’ night, brought to life by a 50-piece orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall – we’ve enjoyed some of the greatest dance compilations of all time, on packed dancefloors lit by laser light shows. The kind of evenings that leave everyone buzzing long after the music stops.
From intimate venues and churches to packed arenas and dance events, these concerts represent just a small selection of the live music experiences we’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy over the years. And as passionate music lovers, these memorable nights continue to inspire what we do every day, helping our customers recreate a little of that live performance magic in their own homes.
Throughout our 30th year of Home Media at Union Street, Maidstone, we will continue to look back and reflect on our most memorable moments in business… watch this space and follow along on social media for more to come.
