Kaleidescape movies are downloaded asynchronously and then played back from local storage. This enables playback with full audio and video fidelity, irrespective of internet connectivity. And as already mentioned, movies available from the Kaleidescape movie store are typically ten times larger than streamer movies, retaining near lossless video and fully lossless audio quality from the studio masters.

Kaleidescape movies are played back on Kaleidescape Strato movie players. For example, the Kaleidescape Strato V movie player can store approximately ten downloaded movies. But for greater movie storage capacity and immediate playback of more movies, you can group Strato V with up to four Terra Prime movie servers. When grouping the Strato V together with a Terra Prime movie server, its internal storage is disabled (in favour of more scalable server storage), and the full Kaleidescape user experience is enabled, including the list view and iconic cover shuffle view, which look and work better with larger movie libraries.

If you have more than one home, you can add a Kaleidescape system to each of your properties. Movies available from the Kaleidescape store can be downloaded on up to five Kaleidescape systems registered to your movie store account. The Terra Prime is available in a variety of different internal drive capacities, with enterprise-class solid-state or hard drive storage. The Kaleidescape Terra Prime movie server ensures maximum storage flexibility while supporting connected Strato V or Strato C movie players throughout your home.
