KEF revamps its iconic R Series

We’re excited to announce that we will be stocking the brand-new KEF R Series.

The updated range transforms what was already one of world’s leading loudspeaker offerings with more than a thousand tweaks and enhancements.

Boasting an array of technological innovations and design improvements, the new R Series delivers high-end design cues and high-level performance.

The new R Series consists of the R11, R7 and R5 floorstanders, the R3 standmount, the R2c centre speaker and the R8a Dolby Atmos-compatible speakers; all of which come available finished in Black Gloss, White Gloss and Walnut.

Inspired by the 12^th generation of KEF’s Uni-Q driver, the R Series is galvanized by a redesigned motor system and the reimagining of the area between the two drivers, resulting in an even smoother, transparent and detailed treble performance than ever before.

The Uni-Q Driver effect is expanded by KEF’s innovative ‘Shadow Flare’ trim ring design, which drastically reduces the diffraction effects of an edged speaker, making for a much clearer, more compelling and transparent sonic performance.

KEF’s R Series has a completely redesigned, suede-like, microfibre grille design, which removes the performance-compromising thick frame of most speaker grilles. Utilising precision-cut holes, the new grille minimises the traditional compromise between great sound and driver protection.

The drivers have been re-worked to offer improved performance, yet are smaller to enable slimmer cabinets. Offering greater excursion, an improved low-distortion motor and a new higher-rigidity cone, the KEF R Series delivers a superb bass performance, with power, depth, speed and articulation in abundance.

The internal bracing system with Constrained Layer Damping – first seen in the award-winning LS50 – helps to further dissipate any unwanted vibrations. Innovative flexible port design, featuring flexible walls, also prevents longitudinal resonances from colouring the midrange. KEF can now accurately calculate the flare and profile to each port to help eliminate unnecessary resonance and deliver only the pure sound of the artist.
