Sales fever gripped the nation on Black Friday when all sorts of goods went up for sale at apparently reduced prices.
But investigations by Which?, the group which offers independent consumer advice, found all was not always what it seemed.
In fact, out of 208 products examined, only five were actually at their cheapest price on Black Friday itself and 98% were either cheaper or the same price, in the surrounding 12 months. It is a cautionary tale for shoppers.
