The lineage is unmistakable, yet years of accumulated engineering knowledge have shaped a speaker that delivers a new level of performance. Its refreshed aesthetic aligns seamlessly with Ruark’s 100 Series, blending heritage with contemporary design.

Like the original, the Ruark Audio Talisman‑R floorstanding speaker is a two‑way, bass‑reflex system built around Ruark’s commitment to natural driver materials. It features a 165mm long‑throw treated‑fibre NS+ woofer paired with a 27mm silk‑dome tweeter. These drivers are integrated through a meticulously optimised crossover using premium audio‑grade capacitors, resistors and low‑loss inductors to ensure clean signal transfer and minimal distortion. The result is a loudspeaker with seamless coherence and an impressively natural frequency response.

Particular attention has been given to the enclosure. In any loudspeaker, as much acoustic energy is generated inside the cabinet as is projected outward, making control and dissipation essential. The visible bolts on the front baffle form part of Talisman‑R’s decoupled baffle system, suspending the baffle on elastomer bushes. Combined with a dual damping strip, this dramatically reduces vibration transfer from the drivers to the main enclosure. Internally, strategic bracing minimises acoustic hotspots, while compound wadding absorbs energy across a wide frequency range, effectively suppressing standing waves. The result is an enclosure with exceptionally low colouration and a purer, more articulate sound.

Although the Talisman‑R’s tapered form provides inherent stability, Ruark has gone further by machining each plinth from 10mm plate steel, threaded to accept adjustable rubber feet and carpet spikes. This added mass ensures rock‑solid stability and, when viewed from the front, creates a distinctive floating appearance.
