The HiFi Rose RS451 is a next-generation network streamer. It combines HiFi Rose’s advanced digital audio technologies with a range of new output options and a footprint perfect for both traditional hi-fi systems and desktop headphone listening. It features a Spotify Connect device for easy playback from the Spotify app and Apple AirPlay support. Built-in Roon Ready support ensures compatibility with Roon-enabled systems. Wireless Bluetooth streaming input is also available.

The RS451 boasts a solid aluminium construction with the HiFi Rose logo on the top panel. Inside, the ES9027PRO high-end 32-bit, 8-channel DAC chip is powered by ESS’s HyperStream® architecture. This delivers precise performance optimised for HiFi audio, ensuring delicate and clean sound reproduction. It supports PCM up to 768kHz and DSD512, making it compatible with high-resolution audio formats. A variety of digital filters allow for sound customisation to suit different music styles and preferences.

The HiFi Rose RS451’s advanced circuitry uses two DAC chips. One powers the traditional pre-out stage while the other handles the headphone output. This separation of signal paths ensures complete isolation. The high-performance headphone stage features four individually driven amplifiers providing strong and stable output even for low-impedance headphones. An isolated power supply design for each channel further enhances clarity and performance. The result is a truly first-class headphone system, all in one box.

The RS451 employs Rose’s Digital Processing Core (DPC) Module, originally designed for the RD160 DAC and further utilised in the RS151. This module synchronises any digital signal received by the DAC with a high-precision Femto clock via an I2S signal. It applies clock synchronisation and locking processes to minimise jitter, ensuring accurate processing and a natural, clear sound. By isolating this module from the wider CPU circuitry, signal distortion and interference from the digital audio path are eliminated, resulting in accurately processed data and a natural, clean sound across various digital formats.

At the heart of the RS451 is ROSE OS, HiFi Rose’s Android-based operating system. This opens up a world of music and video content for your streamer. ROSE OS supports local network music playback through Rose’s Music app, CD playback and ripping via a connected optical drive and internet radio, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz and Apple Music. The RS151 is also Roon Ready and Plays with Audirvāna certified. Additionally, the operating system supports video playback, either locally or within the Tidal or Rose Tube apps Add the new HiFi Rose RW800 in expansion mode to add Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Google Cast compatibility.

Beyond ROSE OS, the RS451 incorporates the ROSE Audio Engine, an in-house development ensuring all digital audio is delivered to the DAC without loss for precise signal processing.

The upgraded 8-Core CPU in the RS451 offers powerful data processing and improved graphics performance. This upgrade delivers the best ROSE OS experience yet, including support for larger music libraries.

The HiFi Rose RS451 boasts a well-organised rear panel layout with intuitive port placement, perfectly suited for real-world use. It includes only the essential input and output options for high-fidelity playback, thoughtfully arranged for simplicity and connection stability. The spacing between ports is carefully considered to minimise interference, making installation more convenient and adaptable to various environments.

The RS451 supports high-quality Bluetooth and USB playback, a hi-res coaxial input (up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD128), an optical input, HDMI eARC connection and a traditional RCA input. It also features balanced and unbalanced outputs, making it compatible with a wide range of systems.

Engineered for high-fidelity audio performance in a slim and space-efficient form factor, the RS451 features HiFi Rose’s signature aluminium enclosure. This reassuring quality combines with the product’s high aesthetic appeal. The new high-resolution, wide-angle 8-inch display offers the same intuitive control as other HiFi Rose streamers. For the first time, it’s flanked by headphone connections on one side and a precisely machined volume knob on the other, creating a visually balanced and practical design.
