Our fantastic business has been celebrated in a prestigious industry magazine.
The article in Hi-Fi+ magazine, the respected business magazine for all things Hi-Fi, shines a light on our business including our origins, ethics and motivations.
Managing director Simon Burton spoke to journalist Chris Frankland for the magazine’s Meet Your Dealer feature.
Simon told him about his love of music, his first Hi-Fi system and how it ignited a fire in him which was to go on to become a decades-long career.
He also spoke not only about the changes in the business over the years but how the principles upon which Home Media is based have endured. Central to our philosophy is customer service which comes above all else.
Simon explains in the article how the business started offering home demonstrations over 25 years ago. It meant a shift from giving demonstrations in the shop but the personal customer care at home has now become normal practice.
It has led not only to sustained sales but also to creating established contacts, relationships which have continued for years.
Hi-Fi+ reported how as part of the home demonstrations, one of the team will set up the equipment in the customer’s home, adjusting it to maximise the acoustics while taking into account elements such as the soft furnishings and shape of the room. The equipment can then be left in situ for a week or so, to ensure it is the right fit for the customer.
Simon said the most important element of the business was ensuring the customer was happy with their purchase, in his words ‘getting the right outcome’.
Sometimes home demonstrations have taken the team to various locations throughout the UK…all in the line of duty.
