The Gold Note DS-1000 EVO DAC Streamer is the most advanced streaming DAC ever produced by Gold Note. The DS-1000 EVO combines advanced technology solutions applied to the digital-to-analogue domain and delivers compelling sound quality, or, as Gold Note call it, the Italian Sound.

Similarly to Gold Notes flagship phono stage, the DS-1000 EVO is available in two versions. The standard model has a fixed output with connection required to an integrated or pre amplifier. The LINE version features a Class A pre amplifier output stage with audio-grade discrete components. The LINE version enables direct connection to an active pair of loudspeakers, or power amplifier. Both the Standard and LINE versions feature a professional 6.3mm headphones output, with two sensitivity levels (High/Low), a proprietary technology developed by Gold Note to get the best out of your headphones.

The core of the DS-1000 EVO is the Dual-Mono D/A converter design, which is powered by two AKM AK4493 converters to ensure the highest fidelity is achieved during the conversion stage, with virtually no crosstalk. Streaming is as easy as pressing play on the Tidal streaming app thanks to Tidal Connect, or simply connecting your computer with a USB cable – no audio file will be a problem, supporting MQA, PCM (up to 32bit/384kHz) and DSD (up to DSD512).

The DS-1000 EVO enables you to stream through Roon, Airplay, Tidal, MQA, Qobuz, vTuner, and Deezer. With Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect, streaming is even easier directly from within their apps. Being Roon Ready means that Gold Note DS-1000 EVO uses Roon streaming technology, for an incredible user interface, simple setup, rock-solid daily reliability, and the highest levels of audio performance, without compromise. To access your collection of digitally stored music, you can use any UPnP/DLNA software from your smartphone or tablet. Or simply download our app GN Control (free for iOS and Android) to control all the features and functions of the DS-1000 EVO, as well as managing your music and streaming services.

The DS-1000 EVO features a fine tuning function for the DAC called ‘Chameleon Mode’. The Chameleon Mode is accessible via the menu, using the multi function wheel. Further information is available in the instruction manual.

There are two external power supply upgrade options available for the DS-1000 EVO. The PSU-1000 and PSU-1250 provide a further sonic improvement by removing interference and electrical noise from the power system. A choice of two upgrade options are also available for the audio signal path, with the use of the Gold Note TUBE-1006 and TUBE-1012 Class A output stages.
