Leema Acoustics Pyxis II Pre-Amplifier

At the Heart of Reference series is the Leema Acoustics Pyxis II Pre-Amplifier. The devise is designed to offer absolute transparency with superior resolution and musicality. The Leema Pyxis II generous range of features include both single ended and balanced analogue inputs and outputs, tone controls, USB digital connectivity (for use with computers). The device also features an on board 24 bit 96 kHz DAC for digital sources and a high performance headphone amplifier. It also comes with the option of a built in, high quality phono stage compatible with both MM and MC cartridges.

The Pyxis is almost two complete pre-amplifiers in one, this is due to the device’s analogue signal path being fully balanced throughout.

Due to the Pyxis featuring proprietary LIPS® control interface and both LIPS® type 1 & 2 included, the Pyxis is able to integrate with home automation systems and other Leema components. Using Leema’s unique LIPS® it is possible to feed and Leema power amplifier with a constant high level audio signal, controlling the power amplifier’s volume at the input stage at the same time.

The Pyxis achieves this by using ‘fly-by-wire’ control data from the Pyxis ensuring maximum signal to noise ratio and resolution of the audio signal, by running the audio interconnect cables at an unattenuated high-level.
